Congratulations Hon. Judge Asina A.Omari...

On 6 August 2022, The President of the United Republic of Tanzania appointed Ms Asina A. Omari Judge of the High Court of Tanzania.  Prior to this appointment Ms. Omari was an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Private Law of the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law and Chairperson of the School’s Legal Aid Committee.

Dr. Francis Sabby has been appointed by the Board of the School of Law to be a Member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Judicial Administration (IJA), one of the School’s strategic partners, to represent the Dean (School).

Dr. Theodora Mwenegoha -Judge of the High Court of Tanzania

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania has appointed Dr. Theodora Mwenegoha Judge of the High Court of Tanzania with effect from 11th May 2021. Prior to this appointment Hon. Dr. Mwenegoha was a lecturer at the Department of Private Law of the School. She had served as a Member of the Fair Competition Commission since 18th August 2017, also a Presidential appointment. We congratulate Hon. Judge Dr.

Dr. Boniphace Luhende

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli has appointed Dr. Boniphace Luhende to be the Deputy Solicitor General. Until this appointment, Dr. Luhende was the head of the Public Law Department. The Dean and UDSOL staff congratulate Dr. Luhende for these new responsibilities.

Prof Peter - International Law Commission

Prof. Peter was elected a member of the United Nations’ International Law Commission (ILC) in 2016 and has since been serving in the ILC. Prof Peter was among 13 candidates from Africa who had vied for a seat in the UN's legal body. On the work done by the ILC

Ms Asina Omari-National Electoral Commission

Ms Asina Omari is an Assistant Lecturer of Law at the Private Law Department. In September 2015, the former President of Tanzania, Dr Jakaya Kikwete appointed her as a Commissioner to the National Electoral Commission. Ms Asina is still serving as a Commissioner to date.
